Dave & Stacy Dockins are the creators and lead facilitators of Free Life People™. They began practicing yoga 19 years ago. Together, they own The Yoga Project — four successful yoga studios in Texas. The Yoga Project was founded in 2005.

Stacy & Dave have been training teachers since 2005. Together, they created the Texas Power Yoga Institute, then Stacy moved on to co-create Live Love Teach yoga teacher training school in 2008. Prior to this, Stacy worked for Baptiste Power Yoga Institute where she was program director. 


Stacy has a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science from Texas A&M University. She has recently completed pre-med course requirements at the University of Texas at Arlington in order quench her desire to be a lifelong student and enhance her teacher training curriculum. She is also a certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and is passionate about weaving the science of nutrition as it relates to the human structure and function into her teaching. Stacy is the creator of Real 40, an online mindfulness & nutrition program. 


Dave has been teaching yoga since 2005. He was a co-facilitator for Texas Power Yoga Institute and Live Love Teach yoga teacher training programs.  Dave also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science from Texas A&M. 


Both Dave & Stacy teach classes daily at their four studio locations when not on the road with Free Life People. Dave’s style is down to earth and playful. He is known for his laid back yet athletic style of teaching. Stacy embraces connection in her classes while being skilled at awakening curiosity and body awareness. She is a yoga anatomy nerd and is known for her dynamic classes and love of hands on teaching. Both Dave & Stacy hold the practice of presence as the foundation of all of their classes. They strive to offer portable gifts that their students can take off the mat and into their lives. Their styles are constantly evolving as they whittle down to what truly works and set aside what doesn’t.

Yoga has helped me learn how to focus my attention on what is real and right now.  That may be the sensation I am feeling in my body while I am in a pose, the conversation I’m having with a loved one, or the beauty of my surroundings.   This practice has helped me manage reactivity, impulsivity and my fear of the unknown.  By learning how to access what is real and let go of what might be or what was, I experience more ease and joy.  I think the most important gift yoga has given me is a reconnection with my own inner knowing.  

I love learning and I love teaching!  I am so grateful for the opportunity to share this practice!  My classes are strong and steady with an emphasis on breath and body awareness.  I draw from my own experiences and the great teachers I’ve had the honor of studying with.   I see each class as a practice, as teacher and student, to stay connected to what is needed moment by moment and respond accordingly.  

My husband and I are the proud founders of Root Down Yoga Studio in La Crosse, Wisconsin where I am surrounded by an incredible team and community of students.  When I'm not at the studio, you'll probably find me on my horse, in my garden or hanging out at home with Nick and our two cats.


Katie Hunter

Prenatal Specialist



Yoga has changed everything about her life and teaching what she loves and believes in has been a natural step for her to take.

Katie is a Live Love Teach 500 hour teacher who completed her initial 200 hour training in Power yoga with Baptiste teachers; Claire Este-McDonald and Gregor Singleton from Boston in London, 2011.

She has since trained with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli at the Yoga Campus, London in Pregnancy yoga. Katie also studied at the Institute for Integrative nutrition in New York to become a Health counsellor. Katie is a Science teacher holding a degree in Education with Biology from Exeter University.

Pregnancy yoga, especially the integration with-in a regular class setting was something Katie wanted to know more about for herself and for teaching her yoga students safely and smoothly.

A woman is even more intuitive during pregnancy and she believes that by encouraging the mother to connect with her feminine power, it can allow for a safer, kinder more nourishing practice that can be maintained throughout a pregnancy even with-in the context of a regular class.  She brings her own experiences of 3 very different pregnancies; where using yoga was something that made her experience more profound.

As a teacher her passion is creating energizing and uplifting classes that will alleviate stress and anxiety. Katie is passionate about working with self-acceptance, believing that from true self-love you can achieve whatever your heart desires.


Robbin Hallford



Robbin began practicing yoga in 2007 after some co-workers’ peer pressured her into going.  When Stacy and Dave opened their studio in Mansfield, Robbin showed up the first day and kept coming back. After attending Level 1 teacher training with Baron Baptiste, she became one of the first students in Stacy and Dave’s Texas Power Yoga Institute and through them attained her 200-hour teaching certification. In 2014, she completed her 500 hour with Live Love Teach and is now a 500 hr E-RYT and an YACEP (Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider).

Robbin has a Bachelor degree in Exercise Science from the University of Texas at Arlington, and a Master degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University. She teaches high school science and personal fitness and loves to incorporate what she learns in the classroom into the yoga studio and what she has learned in yoga to her classroom.  In her past, she was an ACSM certified health and fitness instructor, personal trainer, adjunct professor at two universities, and fitness manager at a local YMCA. She has also worked as a physical therapy assistant and exercise physiologist in cardiac rehab. This background has served her well in doing private yoga instruction for special populations and rehabilitation. Her classes are challenging, working strength, flexibility and balance, yet are accessible to every level of student. Yin and restorative yoga are among the tools she brings to her teaching and she loves introducing people to the gentler side of yoga.

When not practicing, or teaching yoga, Robbin enjoys playing with the light of her life, her grandson. Her husband Andy, and her 3 sons rank pretty high on her list as well. She adores traveling and hanging out with her circle of friends.
